This study included the preparation of new thiazolidines from phenyl acetic acid by its conversion to ester, then the ester was reacted with aqueous hydrazine to give the acid hydrazide, further reaction is performed by reaction of substituted benzaldehyde to form hydrozones. Thiazolidine-4-one compounds were synthesizes by reaction of hydrozones with mercaptoacetic acid. The title compounds were identified using simple methods such as change in melting point and color, moreover spectrophotometrically by FT-IR and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy 13C-NMr & 1H-NMR. During Three months of incubation was observed that compounds (S1, S2, S4b) gave positive results, while compound (S4) showed a negative result.
